李约瑟（Joseph Needham）的《中国科学技术史 第五卷 地学》是相对应英文版Science and Civilisation in China, Volume 3: Mathematics and the Sciences of the Heavens and the Earth中"Geography and Cartography"的部分。

Itinerario volume xxxiii (2009) number 1: Situating Science in Global History

Itinerario: International Journal on the History of European Expansion and Global Interaction是莱顿大学历史系出版的季刊，美国欧洲扩张与全球化论坛（FEEGI）的官方期刊。

本期是由Lissa Roberts主编的特刊，题为Science and Global History, 1750-1850: Local Encounters and Global Circulation，由五篇文章组成。
Lissa Roberts执教于荷兰屯特大学（Universiteit Twente）历史系，研究对象多为科学仪器。其为首的一篇“Situating Science in Global History: Local Exchanges and Networks of Circulation”（9-30）厘清了诸如Diffusion，Circulation，Contact Zone等术语，梳理了在全球史语境中科学史研究的发展轨迹，为之后的四篇个案研究提供了理论支持。

Natalie Zemon Davis: Women on the Margins

女人，小孩，同性恋，几十年过去了，并且再过几十年，种类繁多的弱势群体一样都是吸引眼球的题目。对弱势群体的关注要感谢黑人民权运动与女权运动。具体到史学领域，则是上世纪七八十年代新文化史跃然纸上的事情。
Natalie Zemon Davis是为数不多的畅销书史学家，看封面上赫然印着马丁·盖赫返乡记（The Return of Martin Guerre），即法国电影Le Retour de Martin Guerre的原著。

读此书与女性研究无关，与鼎鼎大名的Davis也无关，而是与书中第三位出场的人物Maria Sibylla Merian（1647-1717）有关。关于Merian的讨论在德国以单行本另外发行Metamorphosen: Das Leben der Maria Sibylla Merian。

Merian曾在苏里南研究与描绘当地热带昆虫、蝴蝶和植物，并结集出版了两卷本Wonderful Transformation and Singular Plant-Food of Caterpillars,
从美洲回来，Merian又出版了Metamorphosis of the Insects of Suriname一书，扩展了她对欧洲昆虫的研究。
